From the distributors of the famous Hot Wheels and Barbie, Mattel will be giving you its latest creation this Christmas -Mindflex. It’s a toy that lets you use your mind, hands, and eyes altogether to levitate and control a foam ball. I can predict this will be the hottest thing this year. And I bet that this will be on your wish list this Christmas!
Mindflex comes with a headset, four balls, and a game console that serves as the obstacle course. The course has five different game modes for you to choose from: Freestyle, Mental Marathon, Danger Zone, Chase the Lights and Thoughtshot.
Prepare yourself to play the game! First, you need to assemble the obstacle course according to your chosen game mode. Then wear the headset that goes over the head, two clips attached on it are placed on the earlobes. Now you can start the game and have fun!
Your objective is to control the ball through the obstacles as fast as you can. Using your concentration, you can levitate the ball over a bed of air then turn the ball left or right with the control knob on the console. The ball’s degree of levitation depends on how much you concentrate.
I know you are wondering how Mindflex works. To simplify things, it uses the same technology as the EEG (Electro Encephalogram) machines the hospitals are using. The headset with its ear clips has sensors that detect the brainwaves from your brain. These will then submit a signal to the game console which contains the fan that makes the ball levitate.
Your level of focus and concentration are directly related to the intensity of your brainwaves. So the harder you concentrate, the faster the fan will spin. This will then move the ball higher. To sum it up, your brain controls the fan in the game console which makes the ball levitate.
The Mindflex toy will really test your mental acuity, as well as the coordination of your hands and eyes. Who would have thought that a toy can do this? Especially at this price. Watch out for it this fall, 2009!
